4 Primary Goals

UNLOCKING THE PURPOSE BEHIND MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY.

1

NASAL BREATHING

Breathing through both nostrils at all times. To some this feels like an impossible goal, but thankfully it can be fully obtainable. Nasal breathing can reduce headaches, gingivitis, and halotosis. Getting proper oxygen intake and preserving the saliva in your mouth can lead to a much more comfortable life.

2

PROPER TONGUE POSTURE

Ensuring the tongue is properly positioned against the entire palate isn't just a matter of aesthetics; it's fundamental to oral and facial development. This posture supports proper dental alignment, aids in the prevention of issues such as tongue thrust, and contributes to overall facial symmetry and balance.

Most people are completely unaware they aren't accomplishing the 4 goals in their day-to-day life.

When each of these goals are met, results can be positively life changing for the overall health and wellbeing of the client.

Myofunctional Therapy works best when there is a multidisciplinary approach and collaboration with other health professionals, which Jen is prepared to provide.

Each client receives a costumized treatment plan with the 4 primary goals as well as goals tailored to their unique needs.

3

CORRECT SWALLOW

Cultivating a correct swallow pattern goes beyond mere functionality; it's about preserving the delicate balance of oral and facial muscles. By preventing the tongue from thrusting forward and avoiding compensatory movements of facial and neck muscles, we maintain proper oral function and minimize the risk of dysphagia and related complications.

4

LIPS SEALED

Encouraging sealed lips except during specific activities serves a dual purpose of promoting proper oral posture and enhancing overall facial aesthetics. Beyond aesthetics, maintaining closed lips facilitates nasal breathing, aids in the prevention of mouth breathing-related issues, and supports proper speech production and articulation.
